I'm giving up!

Changing Exterminator Services?

Yesterday there was a notice outside everybody's doors and posted on the exits saying that because Krenger is considering changing exterminators, there would be an inspection of all units today between ten and eleven in the morning. It's a good time to do an inspection. I'm in 106, and the roach that crawled on me is dead in the utility room, and there's a roach carcass in the hallway outside 107 and another outside 105.

It's 11:10, and no one has arrived yet. I hope they come soon as I need to shower and leave!

New roach in the hallway

There's a new roach carcass in the hallway. This time not in front of 107 but past 105 and toward 104. It looks like it's been smashed and someone either left it out there or threw it out there.

My camera is broken--otherwise I'd post pictures to provide some more evidence of what's going on here.

If you live in 5528 N Kenmore and are having problems, feel free to leave a comment telling us what floor you live on (what unit if you're brave) and what your experience has been.

Surprise!

At about 6 this morning I woke up suddenly (I had taken Benadryl, so I had been very soundly asleep) and thought there was something on my chest. I hurriedly flicked it off me. I couldn't see anything. I looked around, turned on the light, but still didn't see anything. I finally went back to sleep and kept telling myself it was nothing or it was a hair blown by the fan. But it I knew that it was too strange to have woken me up out of such a deep sleep.

It was something. It was the one and a half inch-long roach that is now dead by my bookcase. It seems to have died from Raid or whatever spray is still lingering from the last time Maintenance or Smithereen last sprayed.

It was raining pretty hard last night and early this morning. All my drains are covered, but James did point out that they may still be able to get in through the tub.

I am completely freaked out. This is the third time I have woken up with a roach on me. I want out of here.

Laundry Room

About four days ago there was a big one dying in the laundry room. I hightailed it out of there.

Last Straw?

I haven't seen a roach in my apartment since June (though I've seen plenty in other parts of the building), so I was starting to feel safe. Then a couple days ago I found one scurrying around. I don't know where it came from, but I chased it around then ultimately killed it by my closet.

I just don't know if I want to keep trying to fight this.

Recent Sightings

Right now there's a dead roach in the hallway on the first floor (seems to be more or less in front of 107's door). It's been there a few days.

About a week ago I was coming home through the alley entrance. I noticed a roach go from the alley under the door and into the building (I would guess there's about a 1/4 inch or so of room under there). When I opened the door to go inside, I saw the roach scurrying away inside.

T has reported seeing/killing about 4 roaches in her apartment in the past two weeks.

There's a lot of new folks who've moved in in the last few months. I wonder if they've had problems.
