Many things to report

I haven't updated this in quite a while, but my silence should not be interpreted as a sign that roaches have disappeared completely from 5528 N Kenmore Ave. Two or three days ago, I was intrigued to witness someone who works for Krenger bringing in a potential resident. They were obviously on their way to go see a unit or two, but they had to practically walk over a roach carcass (of the typically large-ish variety). The woman on staff noticed, but tried very hard to keep on moving. I don't think the potential resident noticed anything. I should also mention that that roach had been there for two days.

T has still been having quite a lot of trouble:

1 - she has found five roaches in her apartment in the last month (three were alive, and two recently so). The most recent roach she found today dying on her kitchen counter next to the blender that she uses regularly and her Brita water filter system. She was understandably upset and not eager to eat anything in her home any time soon.

2 - A week or so ago, she witnessed a roach crawling out of the vent directly above the utility closet door. This upset her a lot because she had assumed (and had often witnessed) roaches were coming from under the door, but her new theory is that they are sometimes coming in through the vents (which explains a lot of noises). She called Krenger and got a new filter for the vent. Hers was bent, so maybe that's why that one was able to make it through?

3 - This is perhaps the most disturbing. Over the course of months, she has found several roach parts around her toilet. This confused her, but she tried not to think too hard about it and just figured poisoned roaches are weird. The one day she heard a sound, looked down, and saw a roach trying to make it's way out from the under the base of her toilet. A roach leg was centimeter or so away, and in another direction was appeared to be an antenna. She then sprayed some bleach on the struggling roach, and the noises stopped. She called Krenger, and they caulked around her toilet. She hasn't had a problem since. But the question must be asked (but not dwelt on if you live here): where are these roaches coming from? Do they just hang out under toilets, floorboards, in vents, and pipes? Krenger and the Smithereen are adamant that there live colonies. I believe them. But these stray roaches seem to find it very easy to come and die where ever they like.

I would also like to add that James from Smithereen seems not to be on the case anymore. He had said to trust him because now that this was his case, I would see improvement. I haven't been here when Smithereen has done their monthly visits, but a week or so ago, there was a different guy here. One I've seen a few times in the last few months. I've misplaced the piece of paper I wrote his name on, but I think it was something with an E and ended in an o. If I find it, I'll update this post.

Oh, and I received no reply from Krenger to my last letter. I really want to move.

I signed my lease again though. My circumstances are such that it's just very hard to move. Maybe if I can get the gumption and resources to move they'll let me out of my lease. They offered before (glad to see me and this blog go?), but now that we're moving out of the summer months, the chances are probably slim.
